I'm 53 and work as a specialist teacher for children with speech, language and communication impairments. My husband was diagnosed with bowel cancer with secondaries in his liver and lungs 5 years ago. Despite lots of treatment he passed away 3 years ago. We have a beautiful 23 year old daughter who has coped so well with everything. Sadly I was also diagnosed with bowel cancer in December last year. I have gone through 3 major bowel operations, an emergency colostomy and a liver resection. I am currently completing my second lot of chemo. Its been a horrible year but there seems to be light at the end of the tunnel!
